Programs

Two basic programs anchor every week at Luther House:  an informal “Come-and-Go” lunch every Tuesday and supper with a guided conversation around student-selected themes each Thursday called QUEST.

Supplementing these two featured programs are many more activities each term. For the freshest update about what’s happening, please visit oregonstate.edu/groups/lutheranstudents. There you’ll find details about events and activities and you’ll find a calendar too.

Tuesday Come-and-Go Lunch

Tuesdays 11:30am to 1:30pm

Tuesday Come-and-Go Lunch is held each Tuesday from 11:30-1:30. Just $2 gets you a good meal and generous conversation. There’s no program. Come and go as your schedule permits..

QUEST Dinner and Conversation

Thursdays 5:45 to 7:30pm

QUEST is short for “Questions Under Extreme Scrutiny Together.” It’s held every Thursday evening from 6-7:30 at Luther House. A free home-cooked meal begins the evening. It’s followed by structured conversation around questions students have asked.

Sanctuary

First Thursday each month, 6:45 to 7:30

Informal, student-created, student-led, evening worship with communion after supper in the Luther House living room.

First Sunday Pizza

First Sundays at 1:00pm

First Sunday Pizza, October-June, is another chance to meet friends and enjoy a study break. Meet at Luther House at 1 for the best variety of pizza; come late and you get what’s left.

Service Projects

For the last couple years we’ve been committed to holding two service events each term. They range from neighborhood cleanups, to Habitat for Humanity builds, to serving Stone Soup, to collecting canned goods for the food bank, to care-of-the-earth projects, and more.

Social Events

Building friendships that last is key to the work of Luther House. Many occasions are provided throughout the year to bring people together around fun, food and celebration. Friday game nights, seasonal parties for Halloween or Epiphany, movie nights, going to a sporting event, or biking or hiking are among the recent successful events.

Wise Women's Spirituality Group

Thursdays Noon to 1:00pm

Wise Women Spirituality Group meets every Thursday 12-1. It’s especially for women who want to deepen their spirituality. Bring your own lunch, read a book together, discuss the issues of the day, pray, support each other. No reservations are required.
